High Speed Pursuit in Waverly

A Blackburn man is facing several allegations following a high speed chase Sunday that began in Waverly.

According to the Waverly Police Report, David E. Rice Jr., 33, allegedly led authorities through several neighborhoods. On two separate occasions the pursuit became an off-road chase before Rice abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot before being apprehended a short time later.

Rice now faces one count each of driving while revoked, felony resisting arrest, careless and imprudent driving, property damage and alleged possession of marijuana. Formal charges are pending.
