Huskers Dominate the Bulldogs Tuesday Night
The Odessa Bulldogs traveled to Lafayette County High School Tuesday evening to take on the undefeated Huskers.
Odessa is a young squad with only two seniors and one Junior on the roster, the rest sophomores; Lafayette is stacked with upper classmen. It was a game that was tilted in the Huskers favor from the beginning.
It stayed that way, even though Odessa jumped out to a lead first. After that it was Tyrell Thirkield forcing turnovers and intercepting passes without effort. The Huskers led at the half 37-11.
The third period was more of the same and with a nearly 40 point spread, the clock was running for the fourth period.
Odessa falls to Lafayette County 62-24.
Lafayette was led in scoring by senior Tyrell Thirkield who put up 20. He was followed by Landon Figg who put up 15 and was a strong presence in the lane. It was full team effort though with points contributed by Nick Winfrey with 10 and 7 from Brett Nolte.
Odessa was led by senior Dakota Graham who ended the night with 10.
Odessa is now 3-2 and will host St. Paul Lutheran Thursday night. The Huskers are now 7-0 and will be on the road at Grain Valley Friday night.
