Icy road blamed for Thursday crash in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. –¬†An elderly driver from Holden was injured Thursday, during a one vehicle crash in Johnson County.

According to the highway patrol, the crash occurred onSouthwest 100 Road, West of Highway U, around 5:00 yesterday afternoon. Melvin Enix, 88, was westbound when he began to slide on the ice covered roadway. The vehicle traveled off the right side, struck a guardrail and went airborne, landing on it’s side.

Enix was transported by ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center with minor injuries.
