Independence Man Killed in Early Morning Wreck

An Independence man was killed and the driver seriously injured in a one vehicle crash early Monday morning in Jackson County.

According to the highway patrol, 20-year-old Bridgette Hood of Oak Grove was driving northbound on Route F near Cline Road around 3 a.m. when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle continued for some distance before striking a tree.

25-year-old Jonathon Dabney was pronounced dead at the scene; Hood was taken by life flight to Truman Medical Center West.
