Independence Resident Hurt in Crash

A one-vehicle crash injured an Independence resident late Friday night in Clay County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports James D. Spath lost control of the vehicle in a curve on Southbound I-35 at Vivion Road.

The vehicle then collided with a guardrail before coming to rest.

Spath suffered minor injuries and was transported to North Kansas City Hospital for treatment. The crash occurred just before midnight.
