A Highway Patrolman’s actions in a deadly shooting have been ruled as justified following an investigation of video from his dashboard camera. Trooper Christopher Sullivan conducted a traffic stop on Nebraska resident Thomas Schroeder in late January near Craig. Schroeder admitted to drinking earlier in the day, but began punching the officer and attempted to get back into his vehicle when Sullivan tried to take him into custody. Trooper Sullivan then fired three shots that left Schroeder dead. It was later determined that Schroeder’s blood-alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit.
