JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. — An accident in Johnson County resulted in injuries for a driver from Gallatin Thursday.

A report from the Missouri Highway Patrol indicates the crash occurred on eastbound U.S. 50 Highway, between Business 13 and West Young Street in Warrensburg at 9:53 a.m. Thursday.

A car driven by Thomas F. McWilliams, 87 was traveling east when McWilliams reportedly suffered a sneezing fit, resulting in his eyes becoming watery and obstructing his line-of-sight.

McWilliams told investigators he could make out a truck stopped ahead of him, which according to the report was a MoDOT vehicle, and maneuvered his car off the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

McWilliams reported minor injuries, for which he was treated at the scene of the accident.
