Judge hands down 10 year prison sentence for child sex offender

ADAIR COUNTY, Mo. — A man from Bethel was sentenced to 10 years in prison Tuesday for attempted enticement of a minor.

Jimmy Cunningham, 38 was arrested in August 2017 by members of the Kirksville Regional Computer Crimes Unit when he showed up to meet who he thought was a 13 year old girl for sex.

The person he had been messaging turned out to be a detective with the unit.

Cunningham pleaded guilty to the charge in October of 2018. He remains incarcerated at the Adair County Jail.
