Kansas City Driver Injured When Avoiding Deer

Avoiding a deer in Clay County this morning, caused a one vehicle injury accident. According to the Highway Patrol, Darrell Mitchell, 53, of Kansas City Missouri was Southbound on Highway 169 at the on-ramp to Interstate 29 Northbound when a deer jumped in front of his car. Mitchell swerved to avoid the deer and lost control. The vehicle ran off each side of the road before striking a guardrail. Mitchell was transported to North Kansas City Hospital with serious injuries.
