A “suspicious package” forced an evacuation at Union Station on Tuesday.

The package was reportedly found around 8:30 a.m. near the building’s south entrance.

Patrons were not allowed inside the train depot for more than an hour, according to Kansas City police.

A bomb and arson squad was called to the scene and safely detonated the device.

Authorities said it was an empty box.
