Kirksville Murder Case Holds Hearing

Paul Potter, 49, of Kirksville is been charged with first degree murder, arson, vehicle tampering, armed criminal action and burglary. Potter is accused of stabbing and then dismembering 74-year-old Willis Edward Meredith on January 6th before throwing the severed arms at witnesses. Potter will be in an Adair Country courtroom Friday afternoon for a motion hearing. Defense is asking for an undisclosed amendment to the mental assessment determining Potter’s ability to participate in his defense. That hearing starts at 2 p.m.
