A Knob Noster man has been formally charged in the weekend shooting death of his wife.  Anthony Garcia, 23, is accused of fatally shooting Danielle Garcia, 24, at a home on SE 971 Road.  The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded early Saturday morning to a report of a woman suffering from a “self-inflicted” gun shot wound.  Investigators said evidence collected at the scene later led to Anthony Garcia’s arrest.

Prosecutors have charged him with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.  Garcia appeared for the first time in a Johnson County courtroom on Monday.  His case is scheduled to be reviewed on Feb. 20.  A preliminary hearing has been tentatively set for Apr. 17.

Garcia remains behind bars on a $250,000 bond.
