FLORENCE, Italy (AP) — Sen. Maria Cantwell, a Democrat from Amanda Knox’s home state of Washington, says she’s “very concerned and disappointed” by an Italian court’s verdict that reinstated Knox’s murder conviction in the stabbing of her roommate in 2007. It also increased her sentence. Knox is vowing to appeal to Italy’s highest court, raising the specter of a long extradition fight.
