It was the ladies of Carrollton and Tina-Avalon who would supply the most riveting contest of Thursday night.

Both Tina-Avalon Dragons squads were in Carrollton Thursday night looking for their first win.

The Lady Dragons took a quick lead and led throughout the majority of the contest bolstered by an amazing career effort by Kelsey Garber who put up 35 points. However the Lady Trojans continued to battle and in the fourth a strong effort by Senior Kassi Hofstetter and a clutch 3-pointer by Tiera Winn brought Carrollton even with the Lady Dragons. That would lead to double overtime where Carrollton would go on to an amazing come from behind 64-61 victory.

Hofstetter would finish with 19 points, 15 in the second half. However after a shaky start and mental errors Tiera Winn came roaring back in the clutch with three 3-pointers and ended up with 23 on the night. Garber’s 35 points for Tina-Avalon were followed by 10 from Jenna Holmer.

The boys contest was not close as Carrollton outscored the Dragons 47-22. Carrollton was led in scoring by Brandon Eschenbaugh who would finish the night with 16 followed by Garet Miller with 13. Tina-Avalon was led by Noah Myers with 8.

Both Dragons teams will host Grundy County December 4th down 0-3 on the season.

The Lady Trojans are now 1-1 with the boys at 2-0 as they head to Concordia Friday night.
