Update: Route C has been closed for a two block radius around the building (near Gentry Street). The alternate route is on Livingston. The road is expected to be closed most of today.

Flames from an early morning fire have died, leaving little more than the charred remains of what was once a popular restaurant and museum in Bevier.  Blackened dining room furniture and memorabilia litter the parking lot Thursday morning as fire officials attempt to determine what might have sparked the blaze at the Pear Tree Restaurant and Black Diamond Museum.  Bevier Fire Chief David Coleman said they received the call around 12:30 a.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke and flames pouring out of the buildings.  The restaurant and museum are considered a total loss.  The state fire marshal will be called to assist local fire officials in trying to determine how the fire started. No injuries have been reported.
