Lathrop man flees courtroom, leads deputies on pursuit, initiates hours-long standoff Thursday

CLINTON COUNTY, Mo. —¬†While in court Thursday, 26-year-old Taylor Ryan Brackett, of Lathrop, was ordered to be taken to the Clinton County Jail.

Brackett, though, had other plans and bolted out of the courthouse to his awaiting stolen vehicle and led sheriff’s deputies on a long high speed pursuit.

The pursuit went into Clay County, where Clay County sheriff’s deputies picked up the chase, leading then through Excelsior Springs to just outside of Mosby where Brackett ran out of gas and decided to flee on foot.

Brackett was located hiding in a tree, which led to 3 hour standoff. he was taken into custody and held in Clay County.

Brackett has been transported back to Clinton County and is now held on $500,000 cash only bond on his original felony charges. More charges are expected to be filed.
