The Missouri Department of Transportation Central Region Coalition for Roadway Safety is offering grant opportunities to local law enforcement agencies. The funds are designed to reduce the number of fatalities on Missouri Roadways. Specifically, they are to be used to cover the cost of overtime for activities such as checkpoints and saturation patrols or the purchase of equipment to assist in those efforts.
In order to be considered, agencies must submit their application prior to February 1st. Decisions for funding are expected to be announced in early March.
The Central Region Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety is now accepting grant applications from area law enforcement agencies to fund activities and tools designed to reduce traffic fatalities.
Grants can be used to cover the cost of overtime for checkpoints, saturation patrols and law enforcement, as well as for equipment to help with enforcement, such as radar guns and intoximeters. Grant activities must be completed and reported by June 1.
To be considered for funding, applications must be submitted by February 1. Funding decisions will be made by March 1.
