Major Fire in Chillicothe

The Leeper Hotel building in downtown Chillicothe suffered major damage from a Saturday night fire. Calls started pouring in from numerous KMZU listeners just prior to 6 p.m. on Saturday evening. No injuries were reported.The building was in the process of being demolished since late April. Traffic on Highway 65 through Chillicothe was stopped for about four hours Saturday night. Multiple fire crews from Livingston, Grundy and Carroll counties helped battle the blaze.
