Lee’s Summit Man Killed in Clay Co. Crash

A one vehicle crash in Clay County Tuesday morning was fatal for a Lee’s Summit resident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports James Davis, 61, was driving on I-35 southbound, about two and a half miles north of Kearney, when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail in the median. The Chevy Avalanche then overturned.

Davis’ passenger, John Clark, 64, also of Lee’s Summit suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Liberty Hospital for treatment.

James Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
