Lexington Fire Victims Identified

Both residents of a Lexington home consumed by fire have died. Firefighters responded to their home at 923 Highland Avenue in Lexington around 6:00 Friday morning.

Maxine Deamos, 79, was prounounced dead soon after being pulled from the burning building. Nick Deamos, 84, was flown to an area hospital, but later passed away.

Lexington Fire Chief Kirk Smith reports the cause of the fire is still under investigation. It appears to have started in the rear of the structure’s second story and may be electrical, but the cause has not yet been determined.
