Students in the Smith-Cotton High School Band are raising money to travel to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee.  They will leave in late December.

Local public figures will participate in Saturday’s chili cook-off.  “And you can get a taste of their chili and vote for the best one,” said Maledy, “So it’s an opportunity for folks to come out and get a good meal and try a bunch of different chili.”

Chili will be served up from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Smith-Cotton Junior High.  Tickets cost $7 each.  The band has about $8,000 more dollars to raise.
