Truitt said the new homes are meant to make the transition easier for seniors.  “Sometimes it’s a very hard decision, when you decide to leave your home.  And many times there’s a lot of loss that’s associated with that.  Losing independence, losing things from your home, giving up things.  When they come into this home, they are basically moving to another home, and, yes, sometimes that transition will be hard, but not as hard,” said Truitt.

The skilled nursing cottage is a new concept and these will be the first in the state of Missouri.

A ribbon cutting ceremony for the cottages will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Loch Haven.
