Macon Murder Suspects Set for Trial

Two Macon men accused in the death of an elderly Moberly woman during an Easter weekend crime spree, have court dates set for their murder trials.

Christopher Lewis, 19, and Jeffrey Nichols, 22, are each charged with first degree murder and 18 other felony counts including first degree robbery, armed criminal action, burglary, assault, tampering, theft, and knowingly burning.

The trial for Lewis is scheduled for March 4th in Boone County. Nichols will go on trial on November 17th of 2014 in Marion County. Each defendant requested changes of venue.

Randolph County Prosecutor Mike Fusselman says he will seek the death penalty in both cases.

Both men remain incarcerated on $1,000,000 bonds.
