Man facing nearly 20 counts of child sex-related crimes due in court Thursday

CARROLLTON, Mo. — A man accused of a sexual relationship with a minor spanning more than a decade will be in a Carroll County courtroom for a hearing Thursday morning.

52-year-old Louis Jefferson, of Carrollton, faces nineteen total counts of child-sex related crimes, including first degree child molestation, endangering the welfare of a child and statutory sodomy.

The victim told authorities the alleged contact happened between October 2004 and March 2016. At his most recent hearing, Jefferson’s attorneys asked for a reduction in bail, which the court denied.He also pleaded not guilty to the charges in an October 12 hearing.

He remains in custody at the Ray County Jail on a $75,000 cash bond. He is slated to appear at 9:00 a.m.
