Man Crashes Into Home, Charges Pending

A Columbia resident sustained minor injuries in an accident early Thursday morning in Pettis County.  The crash occurred at 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of Route TT and Highway 50.  Investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said Thomas Barber, 30, failed to stop at the intersection.  He went off the road and struck a home, according to the accident report.  Barber refused treatment at the scene.  He is now facing charges of driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving – resulting in an accident, and failing to stop at a sign.  Barber was transported to the Pettis County Jail.  Formal charges had not been filed at the time of this report.
