Man Taken Into Custody for Columbia Shootings

A 27-year-old man has been taken into custody in the shooting of three people in Columbia on September 22.  According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Christopher Dwayne Brown allegedly shot a man and a woman in a home in the 5900 block of Gregory Drive.  Law enforcement later found a third victim,a 27-year-old man, in a parked vehicle on Lawnridge Drive.  Brown was arrested by Kansas City Police officers and is expected to be transported back to Boone County in the coming days.

A convicted felon charged with shooting three people on Gregory Drive in September was arrested yesterday afternoon (11/19/20) by Kansas City police officers and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents.

Christopher Dwayne Brown, 27, was taken into custody without incident at a home in Kansas City and is being held in the Jackson County Jail without bond. Brown is expected to be transported back to Boone County in the next few days.

Boone County sheriff’s deputies responded to the 5900 block of Gregory Drive in the early morning hours of September 22 where they found a man, 24, and woman, 22, with gunshot wounds. Columbia Police officers a short time later located a third victim, a 27-year-old man, with gunshot wounds setting in a parked vehicle on Lawnridge Drive.

All three victims have since been released from the hospital and are recovering from their wounds. The incident is believed to be the result of a domestic disturbance between associates of the suspect and the victims.
