Authorities in Randolph County are searching for a man from Higbee who is accused of dousing his wife with gasoline and setting their house ablaze. Firefighters were dispatched Monday afternoon to a home in the 300 hundred block of South Randolph Street in Higbee. When personnel arrived they reported finding a female in her late 50′s on the lawn with severe burns. The unidentified woman told authorities her husband had poured gasoline on her. The victim was flown to a Columbia hospital in critical condition.
The names of the victim and her husband have not been released at this time. He reportedly fled the scene east on foot. He is described as 6″2″, slender build, and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt. If you see this individual you are being asked to contact your local law enforcement agency.
