Manslaughter Case Gets Trial Date

A Columbia woman indicted by a grand jury in the death of an eleven-week old infant will is headed to trial after her court appearance in Cooper County Court Monday.  Treschell Kemp, 24, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, domestic assault, endangering the welfare of a child and abuse of a child – resulting in death and has pleaded not-guilty to those charges. Kemp has been jailed since December on a $250,000 bond. Judge Robert L. Koffman has scheduled a jury trial for January 15 with a pre-trial conference scheduled for December 23rd. Kemp remains incarcerated.
