Mercer Shooting, Assault Case Delayed

A Marshall man charged with seven felonies in Mercer County has had his criminal setting continued to November 13th.

Eugene Pattie, Jr., 64, is facing one count each of attempted murder, attempted forcible rape, burglary, kidnapping, and two counts of armed criminal action.

Pattie allegedly shot David Niemeyer on the Mercer Square the evening of May 10th. He is then accused of driving to the victim’s house and allegedly attempted to rape the victim’s wife, Virginia Niemeyer. He was then arrested by the police.

Pattie appeared Wednesday with his attorney who filed the request for a continuance.
