Minor in custody following reported threat at Boonville High School Tuesday

BOONVILLE, Mo.- Boonville Police officers were dispatched to the Boonville High School yesterday, November 7, 2017, around 7:30 a.m., for a reported threat.

According to a release on the Boonville Police Department’s Facebook page, an investigation was conducted with assistance from the Cooper County Juvenile Office, BHS Administration and the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department. As a result, one student was taken into custody at the school. Officials are not releasing further information due to the suspect’s juvenile status.

The release also indicates that BHS Administration reported the incident as soon as they learned of the threat. The student was reportedly at the school and was immediately contacted by authorities conducting the investigation.

Boonville Police Department determined that there was no immediate threat to students or faculty and did not send out an advisory due to the matter being resolved so quickly.

The Cooper County Juvenile Office is currently handling any further adjudication. No further information has been released.
