Missouri State Fair – Friday

Day two of the Missouri State was packed with activities and excitement.  Thousands of people enjoyed the pleasant temperatures and sunny day while strolling through the grounds.  KMZU’s Janet Adkison was on hand and filed these reports.Fisheries Specialist Blake Stephenson offers a rundown of what’s available in the conservation building.

The wine tent at the front of the fairgrounds just across the street from the Pepsi Grandstand is a popular place to sit down, relax and enjoy wines from the Show Me State.  Wine Tent owner, Todd Smith, says they have a wide variety of wine…

Rachel Rumsey from Higginsville

Another 4-H member giving a live demonstration of new scrap booking ideas.

The 4-H building show cases projects done by members all across Missouri.  Rachel Rumsey from Higginsville gave a live demonstration show the audience how to make flowers out of Duct Tape.  Joel Adams of Pierce City and Alan Zvacek from Holden are on the State 4-H Council.  As Council members they assist in the 4-H building helping members set things up for demonstrations.

The Petting Zoo on the south side of the fairgrounds has been a landmark of the fair for a lot of years.  The Green Ridge, Lincoln and Warsaw FFA chapters work together manning the building, organizing and supplying what animals will be featured.

The petting zoo features a wide variety of farm animals including a sow with piglets.
