RICHMOND, MO – A murder case out of Ray County was expected to be decided last week.

A jury from Clay County could not come to a decision Friday, March 9, after the trial of Randy M. Garrison, 35, of Orrick. Two counts of 2nd degree murder, and two counts of abandonment of a child were reviewed by the court. The prosecution argued the deaths resulted from an explosion during an attempt to make methamphetamine. According to court records, the jury began deliberations at 10 a.m. Friday. Before 9 p.m., the jury announced that a unanimous decision could not be reached. As a result, a mistrial was declared.

A further hearing in the matter is set for April 2nd.
