Moberly man in critical condition following Thursday morning wreck

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Mo. — The Missouri Highway Patrol investigated a two-vehicle crash on 63 Highway in Randolph County Thursday morning.

According to an accident report, the wreck occurred on 63 about one-half mile south of Clark Junction at roughly 6:54 a.m. Thursday.

A vehicle operated by 32-year-old Spencer D. Garmon, of Moberly, was southbound, as was a second car, operated by Lyle L. Van Hooten, 81, of Clarence.

Garmon reportedly struck Van Hooten’s automobile, causing Garmon’s vehicle to run off the roadway and collide with a tree.

Garmon, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt during the crash, suffered serious injuries. He was taken to University Hospital in Columbia to receive care.
