Moberly Police Talk Down Suicidal Man

Moberly Police were called to the 1300 block of East Highway 24 just before 2 a.m. Thursday by a 30-year old Moberly man who stated he was suicidal.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered the subject sitting on the highway overpass and quickly closed the road to through traffic. Over the course of the negotiation authorities discovered the man had self-inflicted knife wounds and was still in possession of the knife.

After approximately an hour and a half, officers were able to convince the man to come down.

The unidentified male was placed in protective custody for evaluation & treatment.

Moberly Police were assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Randolph Co. Sheriff”s Office and Randolph Co. Ambulance District.
