A Marshall man was arrested on drug charges Thursday following a traffic stop on 240 Highway in Saline County. During the stop the deputy became suspicious of the suspects behavior and allegedly noticed what appeared to be a glass container and filters consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine in the back seat of the vehicle near the suspect. A search yielded more meth making tools inside the vehicle which the suspect admitted to being his. After taking statements from the suspect and the three other individuals in the car, Michael Townsend, 27, was arrested and charged with manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance; he was placed in the Saline County Jail pending formal charges from the county prosecutor.
