Molestation Suspect Guilty of Witness Tampering

A former Kirksville dentist has been convicted on two counts of witness tampering.

Arnold S. Barber was charged with second degree sodomy for allegedly molesting a 15 year old boy in 2007. Barber made contact with the family’s attorney in February of 2008 in an effort to pay money to the victim to “make this all go away”. The amount was reportedly up to $180,000.

The attorney for the family recorded the his conversation with the defendant and turned it over to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Following his conviction, Barber was sentenced to 5 years in prison on each count to run concurrently.

Those convictions are now under appeal.
