Charges have been filed against a Richmond woman who allegedly took her four-year-old son to Oklahoma without permission. Cassi Licata, 30, was charged Monday, Apr. 1, with interference with custody – removed from state or concealed, according to online court records.
Authorities believe Licata took Nikose Cringan following a custody hearing in the fall of 2012. Nikose, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, had been missing since Oct. 30, 2012. Court records indicate the child’s father, Joshua Cringan, had been awarded sole custody in November 2012.
The search for Nikose heated up in late March after postings on social media were first published by KMZU News. The story was then picked up by other media outlets, further adding to the pressure on local law enforcement officials.
An online search of the State of Oklahoma’s offender database indicates Licata was arrested by authorities in Muskogee on Mar. 28 and remains in custody at the Muskogee County Jail. The boy was reunited with his father one day after Licata’s arrest.
Licata’s bond in Ray County was set at $5,000, with ten percent allowed.
