Motorcycle vs Truck in Salisbury

Update: Just before 3 this afternoon Emergency Crews responded to an accident in Salisbury on Highway 24 at Dogwood Lane. The Highway Patrol reports 78-year-old Don Collins of Glasgow was stationary on his 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle, attempting to turn onto a city street when he was struck from behind by a 2002 GMC Sonoma driven by 85-year-old Harry Gaw of Keytesville. Collins was taken to University Hospital by air ambulance with moderate injuries. Gaw sustained minor injuries.


Emergency Crews are currently responding to an accident at the western edge of Salisbury on Hwy 24 by Reel Deals, just to the West of Dougs Cycle Shop. Initial reports indicated this was a motorcycle versus truck collision and the motorcycle rider appears to still be on the pavement. Authorities have called for a medical helicopter due to serious injuries to the rider. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area if possible.

The call came in around 2:50 p.m. Monday.
