Murder conviction handed down in Boone County case

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. — A Columbia man has been convicted of murder by a jury in Boone County.

The decision came Thursday evening after the jury deliberated for several hours in the case against Denico Sanchez Crawley, 31.

Crawley was charged with shooting into another vehicle in June of 2017, killing Quentin Hurt and wounding Crawley’s ex-girlfriend, Chelsea Hyde.

The jury found Crawley guilty of second degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

Sentencing is scheduled to take place on December 18.
