Murder, Rape Cases Closer to Trial

Two area residents will return to courtrooms on Monday.  Michael Morris, 52, of Odessa, is charged with second-degree murder in the 2012 death of his mother.  He is expected to appear at 9 a.m. for a plea/trial setting.  Morris remains free on a $100,000 bond.

In Saline County, a Nelson man is scheduled to appear for a motions and plea/trial setting on Monday.  Cody Williams, 20, is accused of having sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl.  He is charged with first-degree statutory rape.  Williams is also expected to return to court at 9 a.m.
