Mark Rhodes

The case against a Carrollton man accused of killing his ex-wife is expected to move forward Wednesday afternoon.  Mark Rhodes, 46, was set to face a jury in July 2012, but motions filed weeks earlier stalled the court proceedings.  Rhodes has been charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the September 2010 death of Tina Rhodes, 44.

The case has been moved to Ray County on a change of venue.  A pre-trial conference is being held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.  At this time, Rhodes is scheduled to go on trial in late February 2013.

David Womack

An Independence man accused of killing his brother is also making a court appearance for the first time in a few months.  A pre-trial conference for David Womack, 48, is being held at 2:30 p.m.  Womack allegedly shot and killed Bill Womack, 58, outside their mother’s home in Carrollton in January 2011.

David has been charged with murder and armed criminal action.  His case was moved to Ray County as well and he is scheduled to face his peers in mid-December.
