Rudy Perez Jr.

A Jury Trial has been rescheduled for a Sedalia man charged with murder.  Rudy Perez, 33, was originally scheduled to go before a Boone County Jury on Tuesday.

He is accused of killing Robert Hill, 78, of Warsaw, on February 1st.  Both were patients at Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia at the time.  Perez will now go to trial October 1st.  A hearing has been scheduled for September 23rd at 1:30 p.m.

According to court records, Perez was arrested in Sedalia three days before Hill’s death after an unidentified man said Perez punched him in the face.  Perez was not immediately charged and was released from custody.  Pettis County prosecutors filed assault charges shortly after the alleged murder in Columbia.
