MVC Football remains no. 13 in newest poll

MARSHALL, Mo. (Press Release)- The Missouri Valley College football team remained in the No. 13 spot another week in the latest NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, released Monday.  This is the third-straight week the Vikings have come in at No. 13.

Missouri Valley is coming off its bye week, having finished with 5-1 record against teams from the Heart of America Athletic Conference Northern Division.  The Vikings last played on Oct. 1, defeating Culver-Stockton (Mo.) College by a 49-30 score on Homecoming.  Missouri Valley will play its five remaining games against teams in the Heart Southern Division.

The Vikings are one of five teams from the Heart ranked in this week’s coaches’ poll.  Baker (Kan.) University remained at to No. 2, Grand View (Iowa) University moved up to No. 8, Benedictine (Kan.) College stayed at No. 20 and Peru State (Neb.) College jumped to No. 22 this week.  Missouri Valley owns a 2-1 record against Nationally ranked teams, having defeated Benedictine and Peru State.  The loss came Sept. 24 to Grand View.  The Vikings play at Baker, Nov. 5

The Missouri Valley football team will be on the road Saturday, traveling to Fayette, Mo., for a game with Central Methodist (Mo.) University.  Saturday’s contest will be broadcast on KSMO-TV, ESPN3 and Mediacom.  Kickoff is set for 11:07 a.m.
