New council members; other questions voted on in Tuesday’s special election in Carroll County

CARROLL COUNTY, Mo. — The results of Tuesday’s special election in Carroll County are in.

Rebecca Mohn won the majority of the vote and will become councilperson for Ward 1 in Carrollton, while Stacy Ray-Machado won the majority of the votes to become councilperson for Ward 2. Both will serve the remainder of the unexpired terms on the town council.

Two questions were also on the ballot for voters regarding office vacancies and revenue bonds. The “yes” vote prevailed for the first question in regards to changing the town charter about vacancies in office. The “yes” vote also prevailed for the second question regarding Waterworks system revenue bonds not to exceed $15,000,000.

The special election had a 14% voter turnout.
