Chillicothe’s new Hedrick Medical Center is will open in just six months. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with City Administrator Ike Holland:
The hospital remains on schedule and on budget. “Not to say that we couldn’t go over budget, but the way that the contract was established, we have a guaranteed maximum price not to exceed,” said Holland, “So if they do go over, and exceed the amount that was budgeted, that falls upon the contractor. So, the City, there’s no way that we can go over $1. We’ve already established the price with the contractor. If his costs are to exceed what he had established, that falls back on him.”
They plan to be substantially completed by late November or early December. “Right now, we’ve gotten basically all the windows in. We’re painting inside right now, the first coat of paint. A lot of the walls are all completed now, there’s cabinets going up in the different offices and the different patient rooms. All of the electrical is pretty much done, the water. So now we’re starting on the interior, and we’re moving right along.”
The $41 million facility is scheduled to open in mid-February.
