RAY COUNTY, Mo. — A trial has been cancelled after a judge in Ray County recused himself from a criminal case.

Patricia Smith, VINELink

On Monday, Judge Larry Harman asked the Missouri Supreme Court to assign a new judge to hear the case against Patricia S. Smith, 35, of Richmond.

Smith was charged with felony enticement or attempted enticement of a child after a mother found text messages on her daughter’s phone asking the underage girl to have sex with Smith’s boyfriend, Danny DeClue, 32, also of Richmond.

Court documents did not indicate a reason for the recusal.

A hearing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, in Ray County.
