A Richmond man, who has been charged in connection to a 2011 deadly accident, appeared in a Ray County courtroom on Tuesday morning.  Robert Aliff, 40, was allegedly driving while intoxicated when he crossed over into oncoming traffic.  The crash killed his passenger, Bruce Sodders, 59.  Aliff has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, and driving while revoked.

His lawyers filed a motion for bond reduction on Tuesday, but Judge James Thompson decided to take up the request at hearing on Dec. 11 at 8:30 a.m.  Aliff’s bond was set at $25,000, cash only.  A preliminary hearing was also scheduled in the case.  It is tentatively set for Jan. 15 at 2:30 p.m.  Public Defender Melinda Troeger was assigned to the case in late November.
