“We also have some discussion regarding a couple of agreements we have with Jackson County,” said Criag. “They are upgrading their communications system, and they provide dispatching services to Oak Grove and six other communities. They’re joining the Metropolitan Area Regional Radio System, which improves the communications for most of the entities involved.”

The upgrade to the system will require the city to purchase new equipment to be compatible with the digital frequencies now required by the county. Crag also said there will be a ceremony this week to kick off a construction project in Oak Grove.

“It will be held at the Oak Grove Civic Center, which is at 2100 South Broadway Street,” added Craig. “It will be on August 8th, which is a Thursday, at 1:00 in the afternoon. It will just be a groundbreaking ceremony with some refreshments for the project we have been working on for the last few years.”

The meeting tonight will be at 7:00 at the Civic Center in Oak Grove.
