ODESSA, MO – Business conducted by Odessa aldermen included continuing discussion of infrastructure, with the street improvement plan recently compiled by city officials.

The business of electing a board president was tabled at the last meeting.  The president effectively serves as Mayor Pro Tempore.  Mayor Adam Couch happened to be absent at that meeting.  Alderman Steve Wright has been serving as president of the board.  He was the sole nominee at last night’s meeting, and was appointed to continue in that position.  Mayor Couch mentioned Wright as part of his report to the board.

City administrator, Nici Wilson referred to a comprehensive six-year street maintenance plan submitted by city officials.  Her comments to aldermen reflected simultaneous concern for aging city infrastructure along streets.

Part of the overall maintenance plan is a five-year lease purchase of street maintenance equipment.  A resolution to conduct business with Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation was  approved by aldermen at the meeting.

A closed session commenced after the public meeting.
