One dead and three injured after crash in Randolph County

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Mo. – The Missouri Highway Patrol investigated a fatal crash in Randolph County, just before 3:00 p.m., Thursday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to northbound Highway 63, two miles North of Cairo, when two vehicles overturned after a rear end collision. The crash report says Marlene A. Mathis, 75, of Cairo, slowed to turn right and was struck by James Hartung, 32, of Macon.

Mathis later died at Moberly Regional Medical Center from her injuries. Hartung was flown to University Hospital with moderate injuries. A passenger in each vehicle received treatment for minor injuries at University Hospital.
